![]() Holding Shift and Flux lets you tap a BPM, Shift + Sync sets that deck to the master, and Shift and one of the four cues erases that cue. The blue “sync” buttons toggle on/off with the same dim/light glow, as does “Flux”.įlux controls the recently added “Flux” (or “slip”) mode in Traktor, whereby you can cue juggle, activate loops and so on, and the track will continue playing underneath regardless. The blue “cue” and green “play” buttons glow brightly when pushed/activated. The transport buttons, although small, are the biggest on the unit, and due to their positioning at the bottom they feel fine in performance use. Once all set up, the unit lights up expectantly, looking more refined than the original X1, due to the RGB buttons, the nice Traktor Kontrol S2/S4-esque double-digit LED readouts, and what look like horizontal VU meters above the touchstrip (they are in fact phase meters among other things, as we’ll find out). Once you’re up and running, the Traktor Pro software recognises the unit without any need to head off into preferences, which is to be expected from a Native Instruments hardware /software tie-in, but is still good to see. The quick start PDF is also a download that you get via this process. You can get US$50 / €50 off Traktor software, which you’ll need to use the unit you do this by registering and using an e-code which is then provided to you. The unit comes in typical high quality Native Instruments packaging, and the box contains the Traktor Kontrol X1 Mk2 plus a USB cable and a card for downloading drivers and documentation. ![]() However, it is not responding to any of the actions? This is what I got in my XML file when I open it in NotePad: My System Info on the Device: Traktor Kontrol X1 MK2 Hardware ID: USB\VID_17CC&PID_1220&REV_000 &MI_01 USB\VID_17CC&PID_1220&MI_01 Location: 0000.001d.0000.001.002.000.000.000.000 Driver Details c:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\kx1m2usb.sys c:\Windows\system32\wdfcoinstaller01009.dll (Located on the back of the Konrol X1 MK2 Device) DeviceID: KX101281304870AA I tried MidiTrace.First Impressions / Setting up Modular control with Native Instruments gear: Here, the Z1 is your mixer, the X1 Mk2 controls track decks, and the F1 handles Remix Deck duties. VDJ Recognizes the Kontrol X1 MK2, and I can see all the mapping definitions. I will try to get a unit at my office next week, and provide a proper HID mapper for that. Not sure if the unit will be used exclusively for effects or rather as a mixer, so its your choice to map the device based on your personal preferences. So you will notice that the digits above the the encoders are not mapped, along with the leds above the Touch Strip. The definition is not full though, as without any documents from the manufacture, it is hard to find all of the elements. So feel free to open a thread in the Hardware Forums if for some reason the unit is not properly detected. Since the unit is not offering any Sysex value, it requires a drivername, which may differ from one OS to another (most likely there will be a different one on Mac side). The unit is capable to operate in HID mode as well. ![]() I was able to map the device (remotely, using Teamviewer with a user) in MIDI.
